Verinomics Inc., a pioneering bio-research company specializing in specialty crops, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Scientistto join our team. This position offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge projects in molecular biology, gene editing, and plant biology. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for innovation to contribute to Verinomics’ mission of advancing agricultural biotechnology

NOTE: this position REQUIRES a PhD in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Research Projects: Manage and oversee molecular biology and gene editing experiments, ensuring quality and timely execution.

Molecular Biology Expertise: Conduct advanced experiments, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cloning.

Gene Editing Innovation: Execute and refine CRISPR/Cas9 techniques and other gene editing technologies for plant genome modification.

Plant Tissue Culture Management: Establish, maintain, and monitor plant tissue cultures, addressing challenges and ensuring robust growth.

Experimental Design & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement experiments aligned with project goals.

Data Management & Analysis: Maintain detailed laboratory records and perform thorough data analysis to drive project insights.

Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive lab environment.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Biology, or a related field.5–7 years of relevant laboratory experience with a focus on molecular biology and gene editing technologies.

Proven leadership experience in managing research projects and potentially teams.

Extensive experience with CRISPR/Cas9 and other gene editing technologies, including successful project implementation.

Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in plant tissue culture and plant biology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with next-generation sequencing workflows.Familiarity with laboratory automation and high-throughput systems.

Expertise in developing novel tissue culture techniques for specialty crops.
