Research assistant (Full-, Part-time / internship)

Responsibilities and Duties

· Develop algorithms for disease detection / diagnosis

· Develop novel deep learning-based models to automate information processing

Qualifications and Skills

· Enthusiasm for medical image analysis and machine learning

· Self-motivated

· Coding skills in Python and/or C++.

· Statistics or mathematics background is extremely welcome

· Familiar with or have a strong desire to learn deep learning packages, such as Keras, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow.

Successful applicants will join a vibrant collaborative research environment and will have the opportunity to work closely with applied and clinical investigators with different backgrounds on a wide variety of projects.

The PI is affiliated with the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh. He is actively working at the interface between computer science and medicine. His research objective is to develop novel computerized algorithms and use them to improve early detection, diagnosis, and understanding of diseases.
