About the Role
We’re seeking an IT Business Analyst focused on AI automation to turn real‑world business workflows into scalable, AI‑ready solutions. You’ll partner with teams across the organization to map current processes, uncover pain points, and analyze large‑scale operational and user data using AI‑powered analytics tools to identify high‑impact automation opportunities. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and AI/ML teams, you’ll translate these insights into clear requirements that enable reliable, responsible AI agents and automated workflows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business operations and emerging AI technology and can turn complexity into simple, actionable solutions.
*This role will begin as a temporary position with the potential to transition into a full‑time role based on business needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with business leaders across finance, operations, sales, product, and technology to understand objectives and pain points, translating them into actionable initiatives.
- Elicit and validate requirements using interviews, workshops, document analysis, user observations, and business process modeling.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to evaluate options, define feasible solutions, and align on priorities and trade-offs.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications in collaboration with Product Managers, Data Engineering, and AI/ML teams.
- Work independently with end users to clarify concepts, frame problems, and co-create solution approaches and prototypes.
- Partner with AI team to understand model capabilities and constraints, ensuring requirements are feasible and aligned to responsible AI standards.
- Prepare accurate, comprehensive requirement artifacts (BRDs/FRDs), including process flow diagrams, data mappings, wireframes, user stories with acceptance criteria, and use cases.
- Analyze current-state vs future-state process gaps; recommend process and control improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
- Support change readiness: contribute to training materials, release notes, and stakeholder communications; help facilitate smooth go-lives.
You are a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.
- 1-2 years of IT Business Analyst work experience.
- Familiarity with AI and GenAI tools in the marketplace, including how they integrate into business workflows and technical systems.
- Ability to bridge communication gaps between business and technical audiences, ensuring mutual understanding of requirements, constraints, and expected outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams); familiarity with Visio or Miro Board for process modeling.
- Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, active listening, and attention to detail.
- Practical knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum practices; experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex topics and drive clarity and consensus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
