Piton Therapeutics is located in Watertown, Massachusetts. The company utilizes its proprietary AI Drug Discovery System to efficiently choose drug candidates that precisely target biological processes in the gut microbiome and validate their performance in-house. Position Summary:

Piton is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and enthusiastic Research Intern with experience in one or more of the following areas: molecular biology, microbiology, enzyme assays, and cell culture handling. As a Research Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a research team and contribute to cutting-edge projects. Candidates are expected to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment with a diverse team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in experimental design and execution under the guidance of senior researchers. Experiments range from basic laboratory techniques to cloning, bacterial, and mammalian cell culture.
  • Provide general support to the laboratory operations.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis using relevant tools and software.
  • Maintain detailed records of the experiments and results. Prepare reports and present the findings in the team meetings. Strong attention to detail required.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and troubleshoot challenges.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a related discipline. Recent college graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Strong academic background with a passion for research.
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated, innovative, and creative thinker.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with senior researchers
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques is preferred
