Freelance A/V Podcast Editor Fully Remote | US & UK Applicants Preferred
About Other Kind Media
We’re a podcast management agency for ambitious, business-savvy creators—think founders, entrepreneurs, and multi-hyphenate women building real brands and businesses. Our clients use podcasting as a strategic asset, not just another content channel. They’re scaling, monetizing, and positioning themselves as industry leaders while staying authentic to who they are.
Who We Work With
Our roster includes business owners and influencers who are done playing small. They’re in their twenties to mid-thirties, juggling businesses (and sometimes babies), and using their podcasts to diversify revenue streams and build authority without constantly sharing their personal lives on Instagram. If you’re already listening to podcasts by ambitious women in business, you’re probably familiar with the vibe of our clients’ work.
The Role
We need an experienced A/V editor who can handle both audio polish and visual storytelling. You’ll be editing full podcast episodes, (potentially) creating short-form content for social, and helping our clients’ content look and sound as professional as their businesses are.
This isn’t entirely entry-level work. While we value coachability and growth, we need someone who can jump in, understand brand voice immediately, work across different creator styles, and deliver consistently excellent work without hand-holding.
You’re a fit if:
- You have a strong portfolio of podcast and/or YouTube work (send us actual examples, not just a list of skills)
- You understand the difference between editing for a business podcast vs. a storytelling show vs. a conversational interview format—and can execute all three
- You know your way around audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering (we can hear the difference between someone who knows what they’re doing and someone winging it)
- You can create engaging short-form video content that actually stops the scroll (long-form editing is our priority)
- You’re organized, reliable, and can manage multiple projects without dropping balls (this is a MUST!)
- You genuinely care about supporting women-led businesses and understand the content our clients create (if you have to Google what a “multi-hyphenate entrepreneur” is, this might not be your fit)
- You’re in the US or UK for time zone sanity
What we’re NOT looking for:
- Someone learning as they go or just beginning to build their portfolio
- Generic applications clearly written by AI (we can tell, and we’ll delete it)
- People who need extensive training on basics (we will support you and grow with you, but you cannot be an early beginner for this role)
- Anyone who doesn’t actually care about the work our clients are doing
To Apply:
Send your portfolio, rates, and a brief note about why you want to work with our specific client base to candace@otherkindmedia.com with “A/V Podcast Editor” in the subject line (very important!).
Show us work you’re proud of. Tell us why you’d be excited to support the types of creators we work with. Be yourself—we value authenticity over polish.
