Tutors play an important role in helping students improve academic performance, master foundational skills, and develop confidence as lifelong learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions.
- Provide instruction in Mathematics, Reading, and English Language Arts.
- Assist students with homework, assignments, and classroom concepts.
- Reinforce foundational academic skills and close learning gaps.
- Prepare students for state assessments and standardized tests when appropriate.
- Develop individualized learning strategies based on each student’s academic needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate instructional records.
- Communicate professionally with families and program coordinators.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in tutor orientation, training, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Strong academic background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for helping students succeed.
- Reliable, organized, professional, and dependable.
