info@americanprepacademy.com info@americanprepacademy.com As a Math & English Tutor, you will provide personalized academic instruction to K–12 students through one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions. Tutors play an important role in helping students improve academic performance, master foundational skills, and develop confidence as lifelong learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions.
  • Provide instruction in Mathematics, Reading, and English Language Arts.
  • Assist students with homework, assignments, and classroom concepts.
  • Reinforce foundational academic skills and close learning gaps.
  • Prepare students for state assessments and standardized tests when appropriate.
  • Develop individualized learning strategies based on each student’s academic needs.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate instructional records.
  • Communicate professionally with families and program coordinators.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in tutor orientation, training, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping students succeed.
  • Reliable, organized, professional, and dependable.

Preferred Majors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
  • Experience working with children or youth.
  • Familiarity with K–12 curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Experience with virtual learning platforms.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish, Amharic, French, Arabic, Swahili, or other languages) are encouraged to apply.
