Faith Richardson, a Senior Staff Writer for The Pitt News student newspaper, recently reflected on her positive experience attending appointments at the Pitt Career Center. Read her full column here: Why my experience at the Career Center should inspire you to give it a try!
As a Communication major at Pitt, Faith got to meet with Senior Career Consultant, Erin Wheeler. You can check out this page to find your consultant. We also like to highlight that we have a consultant fully dedicated to helping students who are either undeclared with their major or not fully decided on their career choice. Plus, we have an entire team dedicated to supporting your exploration through experiential learning! Check out the full consultant list here.
Faith also referred to YouScience, an amazing assessment tool to assist students with understanding their aptitudes, how those strengths align with industries, and how to then connect the findings to specific career opportunities. Any Pitt student can set up an appointment via Handshake with your Career Consultant to take a career assessment that helps you to dive deeper into your self-knowledge and career exploration. Your results will generate rich discussion with your Career Consultant, but they can also help you to frame conversations with professors, bosses, recruiters, and parents!
We recommend taking Faith’s advice:
“[Pitt] is offering you free resources to take some of the stress off your back,

you might as well utilize them while you still can.”
The Career Center is located on the second floor of the William Pitt Union. Drop-Ins are offered weekdays from 11 a.m-3 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled anytime via Handshake. For a broad range of resources tailored to your interests, visit careercentral.pitt.edu anytime! We hope to see you soon!
