
The University of Pittsburgh is ranked No. 24 in the large college category among Peace Corps’ 2025 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list.
There are currently 17 Panthers serving in 15 countries around the world including Albania/Montenegro, Armenia, Cambodia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Eastern Caribbean, Ecuador, Guinea, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Philippines, Samoa, Senegal, and Vietnam.
With the help of Pitt, more than 240,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in more than 144 countries since the Peace Corps’ founding in 1961, including 747 Panthers.
This remarkable achievement highlights Pitt’s commendable efforts in producing skilled Volunteers for the Peace Corps’ various global opportunities. Our dedication to the agency’s mission of promoting a better understanding of Americans among the people it serves abroad has been instrumental to our success.
The 2025 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities large, medium, and small colleges as well as graduate school rankings are based on the Peace Corp’s annual Volunteer survey. The top historical rankings are based on the total number of alumni who have served in the Peace Corps since 1961.
Pitt is also a valued Peace Corps University Program partner offering the Coverdell Fellows program which provides financial support to Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who want to pursue graduate studies.
